Embark on a Journey Through Cambodia’s Heartland
Your journey takes you deep into the Cardamom Mountain Range, often known as Cambodia’s “Amazon” forest and one of the country’s most pristine national park regions. Here you will enjoy thrilling jungle trail riding, breathtaking natural landscapes, and beautiful waterfalls. The adventure also includes a relaxing free day at one of Cambodia’s charming beach towns. The tour begins in Siem Reap, where a pre-tour introduction provides insight into Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks. From there, we retrace the paths of history, traveling from vibrant cities to peaceful rural villages. This immersive journey goes far beyond riding—it’s a deeper exploration of Cambodia’s landscapes, communities, and centuries-old stories. Perfect for riders seeking authentic cultural experiences and awe-inspiring natural beauty, this adventure will leave you with unforgettable memories and a true connection to the spirit of Cambodia.
DAY 1 : SIEM REAP – KOH KER TEMPLE
Today we ride along an ancient trail that once connected capital to capital through a single jungle track. Leaving the former capital behind, we travel across rough, sandy paths toward Prasat Banteay Ampil. This 12th-century temple is a perfect destination for those seeking to explore the lesser-known remnants of the Khmer Empire. Built mainly from durable sandstone and enclosed by weather-resistant laterite walls, Banteay Ampil features remarkable carvings and intricate stonework. The designs seem to flow with movement—curving like waves, radiating like beams of light, and capturing lifelike human figures in motion. The temple is surrounded by a rectangular outer wall with a main entrance facing east and a smaller gate to the west. On the southern side, a large false entrance adds balance and symmetry to the structure, while the northern wall stretches unbroken without a gateway. Inside the enclosure stands the central sanctuary, now partially collapsed and wrapped in the roots of encroaching trees. Large stone slabs from the fallen roof lie scattered across the ground. Flanking the main shrine are two smaller sandstone structures, often referred to as “libraries,” each decorated with delicate floral carvings. Though overshadowed by famous temples like Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm, Banteay Ampil offers a quiet and fascinating glimpse into Cambodia’s rich history. After exploring the temple, we continue toward the edge of Kulen Mountain. Here you will have the option of heading directly to lunch or taking on one of the most challenging sections of the trip by riding the mountain trail. After lunch, we ride for about an hour and a half through Cambodia’s remote countryside toward a former minority tribe community. If time allows, we may stop at a remaining village of the former tribe for a short break and a brief insight into its history. Later in the afternoon, we enjoy about an hour of riding along fun ox-cart tracks and narrow single trails through the countryside before finishing with a relaxed 8-kilometer ride to our final stop of the day—a local guesthouse where we celebrate the day’s ride with a well-earned cold beer.
Ride distance: 185km
DAY 2 : KOH KER – PREH KHAN TEMPLE
As the sun rises, we begin another day of adventure, riding through some of the most breathtaking views of the Cambodian countryside on our way to Pre Khan temple-once the second capital of the Angkor Empire after the city was abandoned. We follow a single-track trail through the jungle toward the kulen community, immersing ourselves in authentic Cambodia rural life. Along the way, you’ll pass through picturesque villages and a diverse landscape of plantations-rubber, tobacco, jackfruit, cashew nut, and banana-perfect for scenic photo opportunities. One of the highlight of today’s journey is riding mostly on the dirt tracks, which shift in texture and terrain, making the experience both easier and more exciting. As we continue deeper into the jungle and local villages, we’ll pass rubber plantations and cashew farms, giving you closer look at the everyday life of rural Cambodians. We then continue riding riding southwest along a red dirt road for several more kilometers until we Preh Khan community where you will stay in a very basic homestay in the trip.
Ride Distance: 135 km
DAY 3 : PREH KHAN – KAMPONG CHNANG
Refresh with local coffee and ride to Preh Khan temple, the temple was likely a royal palace and worship place. According to historians, the site used to be a hiding place of King Jayavarman VII before he ascended to the throne in AD 1181 because the style of some construction is similar to the style of Bayon and Ta Prohm temples, for history tour and pay a small visit at the sight as you can’t miss the tour. Suggestion to ride on basic cloth as you will walk about 45 mins in the temple complex. Today we leave behind the ancient Khmer city and ride along village trails, spending most of the morning exploring the beautiful Cambodian countryside. Along the way, we stop at a local school to make a small donation—such as pens or books—and take the opportunity to learn more about Cambodia’s education system and the lives of its children. The ride then continues into one of Cambodia’s most challenging sandy sections. This part of the journey features deep sand trails and technical riding, offering an exciting challenge for dirt bike enthusiasts. After a few hours navigating the sandy tracks, we refuel at a main road before heading west toward lunch in Kampong Thom Province. After lunch, we continue riding for about an hour through the scenic Mekong Delta region, where you will see some of Cambodia’s most beautiful rice paddies stretching across the countryside.

Tonight we will stay at charming rural guesthouse in Chrok La Eng village, the gateway to Ural National park and home to one of the perfect place to cool off with refreshing where new species of wildlife and plants are still being discovered. If time permits, we will ride up the mountain along a rocky trail before descending to the Kravan community. Distance : 109km.
DAY 6 : KOH KONG TOWN

Upon arrival, we’ll take a short coffee break and top up our fuel again to ensure we’re ready for the ride up into the mountains—arguably the most enjoyable section of the day.
We’ll pass through the stunning O’Sam village, known as Cambodia’s organic farming hub, which supplies nutrient-rich fruits across the country. After lunch in the village, we’ll continue riding for approximately three more hours along the main road, descending toward Koh Kong, a peaceful beach town where you’ll enjoy a full day at leisure tomorrow.

Along the way, we’ll pass an elephant sanctuary and one of Cambodia’s largest wildlife observation zones. Lunch will be served at our homestay, where we’ll drop off our bags and gear up for an afternoon ride through the wildlife sanctuary. This part of the journey is often described as the most enjoyable section of the trip, with wild, untamed nature all around.

Where we stay?
We mix our accommodation between comfortable, clean guest houses and remote Village home stays. Staying in village home stays is a real experience however after a few days of riding you will be ready for a comfy bed, warm shower and a good nights sleep.
Where and what will we eat?
Cambodiaoffroad do not include food or drinks in our tour packages, the reason why we don’t know what and how much you will consume so its best you pay your way.
On single day tours you will have lunch at the local clean restaurants serving good Khmer food.
Multi day tour
On multi day tours things are a little different, we do where possible have lunch in a restaurant, however our tours are not like others and we spend most of the day on trails in extremely remote areas where restaurants are just not heard of, this does not stop our guides from organizing lunch in local villages which is a real experience!
Evenings are not a problem in the home stays we have good home cooked food and in the towns we know where to find the most delicious local specialties.
What back pack should I use?
The trick over here is to travel light. Its no fashion show out there so don’t worry about lots of changes of clothes bring with you only the necessitates. A hydro-backpack holding 2-3 liters of water is ideal or a small-medium sized rucksack than has room to carry bottled water.
What about land mines, malaria and safety?
It safe to ride thru the remote Cambodia as MAG cleared most mines from land and Most of the mines that remain are around the border areas and we are always informed by the local authority about the risk.
Cambodia off road have accessed mined area maps from CMAC and avoid all high risk areas.
There is a risk from Malaria in certain areas in Cambodia so don’t forget the mosquito spray and if you feel it necessary a course of malaria tablets.
In regards to civil unrest it has been many years since the Khmer Rouge occupied Cambodia and although we do travel through ares where many former Khmer Rouge soldiers and leaders settled it is completely safe. Also the conflict at the border with Thailand has also ended making the trip to Preah Veaher temple also safe.
Do you supply riding gear?
Cambodia off road includes all riding gear in the tour price. This makes it easy for those of you who had not planed to ride whilst on holiday. We include helmet, gloves, enduro boots, goggles, pads, trousers and shirt.
Many who come on longer planned tours prefer to bring there own gear, we recommend this as its far more comfortable in your own boots!
What about money matters?
Cambodia runs on two currencies the American Dollar and the Cambodian Riel. You will not be able to get Riel in your own country so bring Dollars with you.
Before you go on tour change some of your dollars into Riel as we head into remote areas where US dollars are often not accepted.
We reckon that on average you need around $20-$30 a day for your food and drinks. Atm’s are available in the major towns but don’t rely on these on tour. We also request full payment before we leave on tour so be sure to bring it with you.
US dollars are accepted the whole Cambodia with small note!
